supercharger head honcho black orchid goes in for some seriously deep and authentic sounding breakbeat driven d&b under his ark x moniker. x2lv is basically the perfect representation of the vibe diamond life was set up for in the first place: lush pads, solid beats and a slightly euphoric yet melancholic feel throughout. on the flip myor massiv and diamond life stalwart fff drops one of his prettiest cuts to date. know how showcases the breakcore legend s ability to keep things sparse and beautiful, a slow burner of epic proportions.

club of jacks have been previously spotted on labels like plastik people and blockhead, which should give you an idea of where their sound is pitched. this is classic house with a distinctive uk slant - the beats are up front and the bass is mighty strong. the subs on -alright- just can t be beaten, not least when peppered with other sound system garnishes that keep things ruff and tuff. -raw like 94- makes great use of a lisa stansfield sample for lyrical input, but once again the emphasis is on the weighty production. it s a sound that carries through the b side too, providing you with four highly workable jams for the peak of the night

lazybones is the debut ep from a new character in town, gene on earth. he awakens in the hazy sunlight of his own world, heading towards the horizon on the road to everywhere and nowhere all at once. once a monochrome existence, he s found himself now in submerged in a vivid technicolour dream world. wherever it leads, he ll find out soon enough.

the release starts off with wolfhart, a stripped back groove and exquisitely delayed elements will sure get things going.
next up is ording, named after a city in northeast germany, its dubbed infused chords will take you on an expansive mind trip.
on b side, tschi comes in with some playful hi hats and other wordly sounds that will satisfy the most discerning palates. to round of the ep we get a rework from the master steve o sullivan, which needless to say, needs no introduction.

jacks house makes its first move of 2019 with a third volume of various artist shenanigans pivoting around the crisp minimal house formula that has kept the label on track and in record bags thus far. rich nxt is feeling tracky and subtly spaced out on the heads down dubble, while politics of dancing comes correct with an insistent roller that finds its groove and stays there. julenns good company is a crafty, shuffling workout laden with deep chord pulses, and legit trips djedai- takes things in a freakier turn that should resonate perfectly with the after hours crowd.

ever-impressing uk talent james dexter makes a return to bondage-music this december as he drops his latest three track ep lets go back. 2018 has been a substantial year for london based dj and producer james dexter, with appearances at the likes of fabric (london), claire (amsterdam) and sash (sydney) and releases on little helpers, gruuv, deeperfect and his own inermu imprint in the past 12 months alone. with the new year in sight, here we find three new fresh productions in the form of his lets go back ep, marking a return to bondage music in the process following his recent remix of frinks sofisticate on the imprint. title cut lets go back opens proceedings as dexter reveals an up-front, bumping cut armed with crunchy drum licks, infectious vocal samples and rich, airy chords, before simple things utlises further rich and soulful vocals alongside crisp skipping hats and resonant kicks to guide the production through seven minutes of groove driven house music. last up, dexters roll through pairs refined, stripped back organic percussion arrangements with wandering synth lines and vocal coos to wrap up the ep in fine fashion.

2 sim is a phrase the references mobile phones with two sim cards to describe people of mixed heritage, dual nationality or multiple residence. after being called 2 sim in conversation with a stranger while on a walk through freetown (a recording of this moment features on the record) duval began to explore what the 2 sim experience is in contemporary west-africa. 2 sim ep was created from 2 months of field recordings and interviews with family, friends and peers in freetown sierra leone. these site specific recordings are collaged with solo piano recordings and production recorded in sierra leone and the uk. the ep is accompanied by a short film/ music video of the same name which duval shot and directed whilst making the record. 2 sim ep is the second release from carrying colour which follows on from 2017 s sen am -

ltd repress! by now, chicago s home of the ghetto house movement, dance mania, should need no introduction! if you didn t already know, they are the original purveyors of that hard-ass, stripped back, tough, hitting electronic funk, they ve never held back with their output. operating since the late 80 s the label has gained legions of fans over 2 decades as well as a certain notoriety and one of their most well-known artists has got to be the legendary dj deeon and his various production pseudonyms! this, the second in a series of samplers focusses on some of his unreleased cuts, rarities and classics from the dm catalogue. kicking things off with the demented over-sexed jacking off of da dik suk this ep shows you what s up from the jump. lifted off 1996 s freak like me ep this is vintage deeon to the core! this is followed up with the minimal, acidic runnings of 1112 , from deeon s 1996 chop shop release, a wigged out, simplistic groove that just won t stop. classic chicago weirdness that simply just slams. the frenetic phenomenon opens up side b, produced under his mute pseudonym and originally released in 1997 this is a sure-fire rarity from the dm vaults. a tough one to track down and a real essential under the radar cut. also featured is the wild acid of playground productionz the box , here in unreleased (!) rare remixed form by another chi-town legend - paul johnson. top shelf business. last but certainly not least is another playground jammer in the form of the killer vertigo lifted off the same ep from 1994 which is surely enough to whet even the toughest of appetites. file under jackin . every track on here has been remastered and repressed with the full consent and involvement of dj deeon and parris mitchell, selected and programmed from deeon s private archives and dat tapes for above board, london. 100% hater free.

prolific uk deep house hero andy compton is back on his fabled peng stable with a new project entitled blue dream, and an album called california dreaming which unsurprisingly deals in gorgeous sun soaked tones aimed squarely at the loungey end of his plush, melodic repertoire. from the slinking funk of -betsy- to the low-slung beats and smooth-as-silk bass of -disco baby,- compton shows himself to be completely at home rolling at this kind of tempo, no doubt projecting himself to the malibu beach idyll you can see on the cover. music so radiant, you d best slap on some sunblock.

one copy per customer! gene on earth continues his fine run, touching down on subsequent with a varied ep of machine phunk. ‘pk fire’ lays it down with a tight electro breaks jam whilst ‘thunderbird’ and ‘fore’ skip dreamily into 4/4 territory. the proto drum n’bass of ‘leisure suit’ rounds things off.

tracks from aural imbalances propagation of light album versioned and rendered for wax. just breathe gets spotlighted on the a-side with two remixes. first up, maps of hyperspace grafts his brand of dubby ambience to simon’s instrumentation for trippy chill house goodness. off land strips back the beats and ups the ambient bandwidth on his version to close out the side. the b-side kicks off with soul solution, one of mr. huxtables trademark lusicous atmospheric house tracks. adriano mirabile brings his techy production stylest o the desk on fall of stars to wrap things.

hot on the heels of his album r.u.r on boysnoize, djedjotronic aka jérémy cottereau drops an icy 4 track electro cut for cpu. we knew we wanted to work with cottereau after hearing his and maelstrom s lost echoes project (see maelstrom s alph4 e.p. on cpu). there s a clear drexciyan influence here with plenty of dystopian drama but things are disrupted with the likes of tunnel serving up raw 4/4.

its time to deliver the second ep from adana twins latest mix compilation and with this one we set the focus to the more organic and off kilter leanings from lehar, sbth, acid pauli, musumeci and stereocalypse. kicking things off is italys lehar with his super slick ‘blue wolf where robust percussions culminate in a potent groove laying the foundation for lush sonic melodies that transport you into uniquely sublime spaces. sbth follows with the exceptionally unique ‘4w1r6 where they forgo the standard four-to-the-floor approach and employ a distinguished and uncommonly unique 3/4 time signature to full effect creating a swelling and brooding number assuring a definite, clear memory long after it ends. flipping to the b-side we see the renowned acid pauli in top form as he relies heavily on thick organic percussion and plush musicality with his ‘greetings from orgonon before switching gears as musumeci delivers a stunner with ‘invaders where past meets present as disco, techno and house all meet in one harmonious culmination. to round out the ep, stereocalypses ‘jubeelee! is an expertly crafted venture into the modern techniques of infectious afro-house concluding an extremely well rounded ep showcasing the diversity of adana twins selection and diversity.

please find enclosed the latest body fusion release from label head bobby analog. for this record we have returned to our favoured format of three tracks spread across two sides. the a side features a foray into hip house with some sass and features lots of dx100 bass and m1 keys and strings. on the b side europa kicks things off with lots of juno arpeggiators, chords and 808’s in a homage to our italo friends. we finished things off on the flip with a twisted distorted warped love song. proceeds from the sale of this record go to the struggle to re-unify europe.

lauer always rhymes with power. proven by countless remixes, productions and projects like arto mwambe, black spuma, talamanca system or tuff city kids and his own-brand. there arent many dance floors left that havent been blessed by all this glory. now, the aptly titled third album of frankfurts prime export regarding all things melodic, teenaged and synthesized, intensifies, condenses and hones the sound, he has been developing for years: a topical take on classic dance and 80ies pop figures, disco music in a closet (lauer is still in denial), singing arpeggios, android choirs, beautiful bass lines and sometimes the apparitional architecture of house music.

in the seventh ep to come out on his own imprint, labelhead dimi angelis serves up four tracks, each distinctively angls: bare and unassuming music. opening track “live chat events” leaves little space for actual conversation and immediately hits home with some thorough techno that reminisces of a bygone rave era which refuses to be forgotten. follow-up “index” continues that feel but switches things up by delving off the deep, ever so slightly distorted synth end. on the flipside angelis allows subtle percussion movements to do the talking in “lotus”. proper and powerful on its own, equally useful as a tool. “cosmodrome” closes down #007 and is the most introvert of the four with a unique, submerged sounding pattern that gradually builds and falls. an ep that will fit and improve any collection.
